High-speed, uncompressed video recording
Incorporating ultra-fast solid state drives, the DVR Express Core 2 can record at data rates up to 1620 MB/s which is matched to the maximum input rates of the Camera Link and SDI models. (Note that CoaXPress cameras exceed the rates of these cameras and require the Express Core 2 Max model). The Core 2 stores high-bandwidth uncompressed video data from up to four cameras, preserving all the detail of the original capture providing frame-by-frame review of recordings as if each frame is its own still picture. After the recording is complete, clips can be exported into formats that do support compression while still retaining the original data is always preserved.

Capacity for multi-camera capture

Multi-capture recording is simplified through the use of up to four cameras capturing simultaneously. Accurate alignment of each camera's exposure is achieved with the use of a built-in synchronisation tool provided the camera supports this tool. Time stamps can be added to the images based on the exposure trigger point or any time after that.

High storage and data protection
Configurable to store up to 15 TB of storage, the Core 2 can record from tens of minutes to hours without downloading. The advantage of long-duration video recording permits greater analysis of processes over time which is not possible with other camera systems. If short clips are needed, the high storage capacity allows many more experiments to be captured with no transfer downtime in between. Incorporating a removable cartridge drive, the Core 2 holds up to four solid-state drives ensures reliable continuous recording with no dropped frames, plus tolerance to shock and vibration. Recording directly to non-volatile storage also protects data in the event of a power loss.
