The Phantom KT1210 high-speed camera delivers exceptional image quality and flexibility for capturing fast-moving events with clarity. Built with advanced BSI (Back Side Illuminated) sensor technology and offers 12,090 frames-per-second at 1280 x 832 resolution, it provides accurate data capture across a variety of environments, including low-light conditions.

It offers frame rates over 52,000 fps at 640 x 384, making it ideal for material impact studies, fluid dynamics, and ballistics testing. Binned mode combines pixels to boost frame rates, enhancing vertical resolution at lower resolutions.

A programmable I/O system allows for precise synchronization and control, integrating seamlessly with data acquisition (DAQ) systems and other sensors.

Weighing 3.2 kg, the KT1210’s compact design reduces the need for large support equipment, making it suitable for setups with limited space. The camera allows for standalone operation with on-camera controls, CF Express storage compatibility, and real-time monitoring through SDI and HDMI outputs.

Applications

Droplet Analysis/PIV
Track particle movement in fluids to analyse velocity fields and flow patterns.

Digital Image Correlation (DIC):
Measure full-field deformation, strain, and displacement for material testing and structural analysis.

Life Sciences and Biomechanics:
Study biological movements and physiological processes to support medical and biomechanics research.

Material Testing:
Capture how materials respond to stress, fracture, and extreme forces for engineering and design improvements.

Ballistics research:
With high light sensitivity to eliminate motion blur and incredibly high frame rates, it makes it perfectly suited to ballistics e.g. gunshot analysis or explosives etc.

Automotive:

Analyse crash tests, component motion, and vehicle dynamics to support safety and performance evaluations.

Combustion:
Combustion applications often have unique difficulties that need to be overcome. Aside from being exceptionally fast events they often have lighting issues as they quickly fluctuate between being very dark and very bright. Phantom cameras have features that aid researchers in dealing with these issues.

Microfluidics:
Visualise fluid flow at the microscale, aiding research in biotechnology, chemistry, and physics.
