New sensor design provides performance
competition for CCD cameras
Available in both monochrome and colour models, the SP-20000 offers 30
fps at full 20-megapixel resolution (5120 x 3840) via a large 41mm diagonal
CMOS imager with global shutter.
The monochrome model (SP-20000M-PMCL) offers horizontal and vertical binning
plus excellent NIR response while the color model (SP-20000C-PMCL) provides
raw Bayer output at 30 fps. A built-in high dynamic range (HDR) mode (monochrome
only) lets users define 2 knee points to expand the dynamic range of the
camera in high contrast situations.
Both monochrome and color models leverage CMOSIS' 8-transistor (8T) pixel
architecture to implement true correlated double sampling (CDS) for outstanding
image quality with the highest degree of pixel uniformity. An industry-leading
1:50000 parasitic light rejection ratio minimizes global shutter leakage
for clean images with sharp contrast.
Dual Mini Camera Link connectors in a two-cable "full" configuration
provide the bandwidth necessary for high-speed, high resolution ouput.
Power can be supplied through the Camera Link connectors using a dual-channel-powered
frame grabber, or can be provided via the separate 12-pin connector.
Key features |
|
8T CMOS technology |
This pixel technology is used in a variety of ways to make the image
quality suitable for many applications that may not have previously
used a CMOS-based camera |
|
|
Fast and clear |
The SP-20000 provides high throughput of 20 megapixels
at 30 frames-per-second while not compromising image quality |
|
|
Better capture |
The large pixel size of 6.4 µm facilitates the space needed
for the 8T technology, providing the extra photosensitive
area needed for better photon-capture and a lower
signal-to-noise ratio. |
|
|
Better uniformity |
Substantially better uniformity via the 8T technology
which enables two signal measurements – taken
at the pixel level - providing an accurate measurement of the actual
pixel value. |
|
|
Parasitic light solution |
8T technology to achieve a 1:50000 PLS rating –
the highest among CMOS imagers where only 1 out of
every 50,000 photons “leaks” into the buffer. |
|
|
Automatic light control |
Combining the auto gain function with the auto shutter function,
enables users to handle changing light conditions, easily, to achieve
proper exposure while minimizing both image noise and motion blur
which is extremely useful for outdoor applications |
|
|
High-dynamic range |
This built-in mode captures both bright and dark details under high
contrast conditions and provides outstanding low-light performance.
(Monochrome only) |
|
|
Tough construction |
Built for the rigors of real-world applications
by being able to withstand vibration and shock conditions of 10G and
80G, respectively |
|
|
Handles extreme temperatures |
Advanced thermal management techniques enable the
camera to operate in an extended temperature range of -45°C to
+70°C. |
|
|
Applications |
The
SP-20000’s high resolution means that large areas
can be inspected in a single pass instead of using multiple
cameras or cameras mounted on moving arms and is suited to applications
that demand detailed, high quality images with the highest possible
throughput. |
