Leveraging the cost advantages of a single-port GigE Vision configuration,
the 2-megapixel industrial grade AB-201 GE CCD camera offers a combination
of high-resolution, high-fidelity, and high frame rates.
Incorporating the KAI-02150 quad-tap sensor from Kodak, the cameras deliver
full-frame resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels raw colour Bayer output delivered
over a standard GigE Vision interface at 38 frames-per-second. Alternatively,
AB-201GE can be set to perform in-camera colour interpolation to produce
YUV 4:2:2 output at 26.6 fps, or 24-bit (8-bits per colour) RGB output
at 17.7 frames-per-second.
The simple, single-cable GigE Vision interface supports 2-megapixel 8-bit
output at 38.3 fps, with 10-bit per pixel and 12-bit per pixel modes also
selectable. JAI's free SDK and Control Tool software provides easy access
to the camera's extensive feature set, as well as a wide range of library
functions and samples for quick application development. GigE Vision /
GenICam-compliant software tools and libraries from third-party companies
are also supported.
Both cameras feature an advanced channel balancing function which continuously
adjusts the video levels coming from the quad-tap sensor to ensure uniformity
across the image.
Like JAI’s other high-resolution cameras, the AB-201GE incorporates
a list of industrial grade features aimed at maximizing performance in
machine vision environments. These include precise sensor alignment, advanced
thermal management, a built-in temperature sensor, and rugged construction
with extensive shock and vibration testing performed.
Applications |
|
|
|
JAI's GIGE Vision models offer
an attractive price/performance point for applications that don't
need to push the limits of frame rates. Core applications include
a broad range of industrial, medical or entertainment applications.
Various auto-shutter, auto-gain and auto-iris capabilities also make
the cameras suitable for a variety of outdoor applications such as
traffic, mining and more. |
Key
benefits |
|
|
40- 50% cheaper than dual-port models.
|
• Lower network
overheads |
Single-cable solution |
• Simpler packet management |
Single-interface solutions avoid most of the problems
that arise when needing to synchronise two high-speed packet streams
in dual-port systems |
• SDK independent |
Users can choose JAI's free SDK or
any other third-arty library and development tool that is GigE Vision/GeniCam
compliant |
• Industrial-grade construction |
JAI ensures that its high-resolution cameras can withstand
rugged environments and can cope with a variety of thermal/shock/vibration
situations |
