The AB1600GE is part of the Jai "Advanced"
series in the company's C3 Camera collection. It incorporates the Kodak
Kai-1600 dual-tap progressive scan CCD and delivers a full 4872
x 3248 pixel resolution in colour at 3 frames per second. The model features
user-selectable 8-bit, 10-bit or 12-bit output.
A series of pre-processing functions are built into
the camera to achieve high image quality while off-loading
these tasks from the user's host PC. Available
functions include a look-up table (LUT) to adjust image contrast
(gamma correction), a built-in blemish compensation function to correct
for defective pixels and automatic channel balancing. This model
includes the same standard features as the Camera Link models, including
multiple trigger modes, pre-set or programmable electronic shutter and
partial scanning.
In addition to the standard features, the AB-1600GE
features a programmable GPIO module with opto-isolated
inputs and outputs, and an innovative Sequence Trigger mode that
lets users pre-program the camera for on-the-fly changing of gain, exposure
and region-of-interest. (ROI).
The camera also features a specialized internal heat sink and
a ridged housing design which combine to produce exceptional
thermal management and low noise operation.
To ensure reliable performance in industrial environments, JAI
subjects its 16-megapixel cameras to the same extensive shock
and vibration testing as lower resolution models. This testing
includes shock testing to 70 G and vibration testing to specifications
of 10 G at 20 Hz in all three directions (XYZ).
The camera is compatible with any GigE Vision/GenICam-compliant application
development tools and is also supported by JAI's own comprehensive camera
control tool and SDK package.
Core applications for the
AB-1600GE cameras include flat panel LCD inspection, print inspection,
solar panel inspection, PCB inspection, 3D metrology, biometrics and microscopy.
The camera is also suitable for numerous
high-end outdoor uses including high-end security/surveillance, aerial
imaging and traffic applications.
