Amongst the benefits offered by the Piranha4 4K trilinear colour line scan camera include high line rates, high responsivity and outstanding signal-to-noise ratio.

Based on Teledyne DALSA's unique line scan CMOS sensor architecture, independent gain and exposure control for each colour allows the user to tune spectral responsivity while sub-pixel spatial correction allows precise colour registration in any sampling scenarios. Additionally, the camera enables the user to focus on specific areas of an image and ignore the rest and so reducing processing bandwidth and also simplify cabling.

Other advanced features including subpixel spatial correction, lens and shading correction, and flat field correction.

The CMOS sensor provides three native colours (RGB) with minimum spatial separation for the maximum in colour accuracy and performance at 70 kHz. Throughput is clocked at 573 MPix/s using Camera Link.
