The Piranha HS-12K-90 kHz high-sensitvity camera offers
optimal sensitivity and speed with its combination of
HSLInk* interface and TDI**
technology. With a mazimum line rate of 90 kHz, a throughput
of 1.08 gigapixels-per-second, and 12, 000 pixel resolution,
this camera provides very high sensitivity at very high speeds. It features
bi-directional operation and has 256x TDI lines
while also preventing over-exposure with anti-blooming
features.
TDI is a method of line scanning which provides dramatically increased
responsivity compared to other video scanning methods. It permits
much greater scanning speeds in low light, or allows reduced lighting
levels (and costs) at conventional speeds. TDI is based on the concept
of accumulating multiple exposures of the same (moving) object,
effectively increasing the integration time available to collect incident
light. As an object moves under each of the 256x lines the charge from
that object is added to the previous line so that a total of 256X charges
for that object have been accumulated. The object motion must be synchronized
with the exposures to ensure a crisp image.
Providing maximum performance in low light, this high-performing
camera comes in a compact body measuring 180 x 90 x 92.5 cm and is ideally
suited for flat-panel display, electronics and PCB, solar cell
inspection and other high-speed web applications.
