The Emberion VS20 is a versatile camera system that can be adapted with optics and lighting for multispectral and hyperspectral imaging. Its features make it a valuable tool for applications requiring high-quality imaging with robust performance and flexibility. These cameras provide fantastic responsivity with very low noise over a broad spectral range from 400nm to 2000 nm.
Emberion VS20 has full camera functionality including calibration, image preprocessing, thermal control, power management and standard digital camera interfaces. The Emberion VS20 housing provides a wide operating temperature range, efficient thermal management and protection against dust and water. The sensor package also offers a thermo-electric cooling (TEC) element.
The Emberion VS20 VIS-SWIR cameras are built with an innovative Colloidal Quantum Dot (CQD) sensor. A fairly-new commercial technology, CQD sensors are built with wet chemistry processes and offer a tunable photon absorption range and broad wavelength coverage. CQD short-wave infrared (SWIR) sensors offer high quantum efficiency, low noise and can operate at elevated temperatures. CQD pixels facilitate scalability to both small and large formats, such as 4K HD.
The Emberion VS20 VIS-SWIR Camera family is offered in three variants
• Wide spectral range covered with a single sensor array, from 400nm to 2000nm.
• High dynamic range 80dB allows for detail in the shadows otherwise below the noise floor level and so not usable.
• Affordable and applicable to a wide range of imaging applications.
• Emberion designed CMOS Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC) customised for low noise and high dynamic range

Water is very strongly absorbed in a number of relatively narrow spectral bands between 1000nm and 1900nm with the absorption feature around 1450nm most commonly used to measure moisture content.

400nm - 2000nm: Visible light dominates IR light in this full spectrum image due to the properties of the halogen + LED light sources and spectral sensitivity of the sensor.
Dark hair, brown eyes and wooden earrings appear very light in the SWIR only image. Black plastic sunglasses fully transparent.
