The AVT PIKE F-505 is a CCD progressive scan camera with 5 Mega Pixel resolution for demanding industrial applications. Available in both monochrome (PIKE F-505B) and colour (PIKE F-505C), the PIKE F-505 is capable of speeds of up to 15 frames per second at full resolution. It features the proven and easy to use FireWire (IEEE 1394b) interface for high performance imaging in demanding applications.

The PIKE F-505 provides two outputs through copper Bilingual Daisy Chain connections. It operates at a high bit rate of 14-bits and so produces highly sophisticated images, resulting in a high dynamic range suitable for applications where light and dark imaging is vital. The extensive built-in image processing possibilities (image pre-processing) result in outstanding image quality, reduced retouching, less CPU load and overall higher performance. The integrated Smart Functions enable the camera to take over essential functions of a frame-grabber. It can be easily integrated into existing applications thanks to its powerful and flexible API.

This camera is also available as a 'Fiber' version (PIKE F-505B / F-505C fiber) where one output is a copper port and the other is a GOF connection (2 x optical fiber on LCLC). The GOF connection allows up to 500m cable lengths, equalization of potential and protection from Electro-Magnetic interference.
