All-in-one, High Speed, High Resolution, Line Scan package

The AxCIS 400mm is a comprehensive line scanning solution that combines sensor pixels with lenses and illumination. AxCIS is a user-friendly, innovative Contact Image Sensor (CIS) that provides an economical option for machine vision line scan applications that scan flat objects with a small depth of field requirement such paper in a roll to roll machine or a printed circuit board. It offers an enhanced signal-to-noise ratio and incorporates a Camera Link HS SFP+ fibre optic interface.

The AxCIS CIS leverages Teledyne Dalsa's cutting-edge quadlinear CMOS image sensors and achieves impressive line rates of up to 120 kHz with a resolution of 900 dpi (dots per inch). The AxCIS comes pre-calibrated with 1:1 magnification to give exact measurements with no parallax and is available in either colour and monochrome.

AxCIS simplifies the installation process, fits into confined spaces and does not require intricate alignment or calibration. It uses a single 24v power supply for operation.

AxCIS mono offers High Dynamic Range (HDR) images with a dual exposure mode. HDR mode works by exposing one row of the sensor array for a relatively prolonged time for dark areas in on the target object and by exposing another row with a shorter exposure time for bright areas in the object. This innovative approach makes it possible to image and accurately measure materials with highly reflective properties that would otherwise saturate in some areas of the object.

The unique staggered design of sections of pixels in the AxCIS ensures full coverage of the entire field of view without overlooking any pixel (a common problem with other CIS sensors). Each pixel value in the image is the true measured brightness value without mathematical interpolation. Automatic tap balancing ensures a seamlessly stitched image. AxCIS is available in standard lengths of 400mm and 800mm, but can also be offered in different lengths made up of increments of 100mm and so provides flexibility to suit various application needs.
