Built to perform a variety of machine vision tasks, Forge 5GigE provides the industry’s most cutting-edge features for vision engineers and vision system integrators to execute complex vision system tasks now and into the future. Forge 5GigE cameras feature a compact form-factor for easy integration and all-metal body.
The first models released in the Forge 5GigE family, use either a 5MP (FG-P5G-50S4C-C, FG-P5G-50S4M-C) or 24.5MP (FG-P5G-244S8C-C, FG-P5G-244S8M-C) Sony Pregius Gen 4 Global Shutter CMOS sensors. Forge 5GigE supports ethernet link speeds of 1, 2.5, and 5GigE and also offers burst mode to capture images at speeds of up to 10Gb/s into memory. Burst mode images are stored in-camera, in a 500 MB image buffer which is large enough to achieve meaningful results in high-speed applications.
The Forge 5GigE family showcases an extensive feature set that includes PoE, strong thermal management and opto-isolated triggering for ease-of-integration and easier camera control. Forge 5GigE is GigE Vision compliant which allows existing vision systems using GigE Vision cameras to be easily upgraded to Forge 5GigE cameras and bolster system performance without significantly modifying application software. Furthermore, Forge 5GigE cameras support Teledyne Spinnaker SDK, and Sapera LT SDKs and all GigE Vision compliant software packages.
Teledyne’s acquisition of FLIR, Lumenera and Dalsa by Teledyne has allowed the group of companies to collaborate and leverage the strengths of combined product lines and to cross-fertilise functionality and features. Teledyne has signalled this by rebranding FLIR Machine Cameras to Teledyne FLIR IIS (Integrated Imaging Solutions). As such, users of the Forge 5GigE now have access to T2IR (Trigger-To-Image-Reliability) capability which consists of hardware and software features that provide reliable data transfer with diagnostics. The Forge 5GigE T2IR framework provides engineers tools to develop reliable and robust systems faster.
Sadiq Panjwani, General Manager of Teledyne FLIR IIS, says “Forge 5GigE is the first area scan camera family to harness the combined wealth of customer knowledge and technical expertise from Teledyne FLIR, Teledyne DALSA, and Teledyne Lumenera. Teledyne FLIR IIS products are designed from the ground up to empower systems engineers to quickly develop highly reliable and competitive products.”
All the above make Forge 5GigE ideal for high-performance applications in factory automation for electronics inspection, food processing, pharmaceuticals, for sports analytics and virtual reality motion capture.
