Ensenso
N: Future-proof your 3D application
|
iDS have strengthened the Ensenso N 3D camera series with the
release of four new camera models, the N31, N36, N41 and N46.
Visually, the cameras are no different from their predecessors
(N30, N35, N40, N45), however the new models are leveraged with
low-noise sensors and higher resolutions (2.3 MP instead of 1.3
MP). These cameras come fitted with CMOS sensors and a GigE Vision
interface.
The Ensenso N camera series are designed with a compact housing
that is suited to harsh environmental conditions and the cameras
have the ability to detect both stationary and moving 3D objects.
A notable feature with the Ensenso N 3D cameras is an integrated
projector that projects a high-contrast texture onto a target
object using a random dot pattern mask so that objects with few
or very low contrast features can be measured in 3D. To further
enable reliable performance in rugged environments all models
within the Ensenso N family provide lockable GPIO (general purpose
input/output) connectors for trigger and flash.
Whether it be inline component inspection for the manufacturing
industry or order picking for remote-controlled industrial robots
in hazardous environments, the Ensenso N cameras excel in a wide
variety of 3D tasks.
The Ensenso N camera family is separated by two product lines,
the N3x (N30, N31, N35, N36) and the N4x (N40, N41, N45, N46).
Each product line has its own unique advantages.

Lightweight
and cost-optimized
In this new Ensenso N series iDS has seperated the electronics
behind each of the three components (cameras and projector) and
in so doing have allowed the use of a lightweight plastic composite
housing material, which makes it possible to manufacture the 3D
camera family more cost-effectively.
The reduced
weight also makes Ensenso N4x models applicable to collaborative
robotic arms, whose driving forces can be limited due to safety
reasons.

For demanding applications
The Aluminium housing of the N3x camera models ensures optimum
heat dissipation of the electronic components and allows a stable
light output even under extreme conditions. These factors compliment
the overall high quality and robustness of the 3D data.
The metal
design also allows the CMOS sensors to be mounted more accurately
and with vergence angles of 2° to 10° making it possible
to achieve best results for applications with shorter object distances.

EnsensoSDK
|
|
Members of
the Ensenso N camera family, can be easily set up to operate via
the EnsensoSDK. Note* new models (N31, N36, N41 N46) require
EnsensoSDK 3.4
One software package (Ensenso SDK for Windows and Linux)
for all Ensenso models
MVTec HALCON, C, C++ and C# sample programs with source
code
Output of a single 3D point cloud in multi-camera mode
Live composition of the 3D point clouds from multiple viewing
directions
Robot hand-eye calibration
Integration of uEye industrial cameras, for example, to
capture additional colour information or barcodes
