About the BOA200 series
The BOA200 smart camera vision system is a highly-integrated optical inspection,
factory-friendly tool with simplicity, reliability and cost-savings as additional
benefits.
Delivering over four times the processing performance of
the standard BOA camera and and 1.5 times more
than the BOA50, and noticeably more responsive,
the BOA200 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
and is mechanically and electrically compatible with other BOA models, but
offers a better solution for applications that use higher resolution
or need faster inspection times. This version of the smart camera
also provides additional memory for both program execution and solution
storage.
With an emphasis on versatility and flexibility, the BOA200 vision system
comes in three software-defined models, in a range
of resolutions for both monochrome and colour applications and
with three performance options.
All three software packages include a comprehensive suite of tools and
capabilities as well as support for standard factory protocols such as
Ethernet/IP, Modbus and ProfiNet.
Aimed at increasing productivity, this easy-to-use and inexpensive vision
system is built with the best in engineering design and manufacturing
expertise, and offers scalable vision solutions to satisfy a wide range
of application needs from positioning robotic handlers to complete assembly
verifications. Packaged in a small, rugged enclosure, the BOA200 fits
easily into existing production lines, machinery or moving equipment.
Designed and ruggedized for harsh environment factory floor deployment,
BOA200 is an all-in-one intelligent vision system with an easy web browser
set up and remotely monitored via Ethernet cable.
The Boa application setup does not assume programming or machine
vision knowledge.

The BOA200 IDR
- for identification and validation applications embedded with a relevant-to-task
sub-set of iNspect Express software
Identifies and reports
BOA IDR is an image-based identification and verification camera that
allows manufacturers to identify, automatically, parts for traceability
and error proofing. A highly-integrated solution, the BOA IDR
offers product identification and tracking for high speed applications
in automotive, consumer products, electronics, packaging and pharmaceutical
industries.
The IDR version is offered with a subset of iNspect Express tools
that applies only to identification, tracking and associated verification
applications and is a good choice for manufacturers who need to inspect
product markings for correctness or traceability. BOA IDR combines 1D
and 2D reader tools with character (OCR) and pattern recognition capabilities
to identify or verify all required product markings and the IDR software
is embedded within the device and is setup through a web browser interface.
The controls are easy to navigate and accommodate users of all experience
levels. Advanced features, such as custom scripting, are provided for
more complex applications. User administration controls and logging features
are also included to help customers achieve system validation when required.
Included with BOA IDR is a fully functional software emulator that allows
users to develop or debug applications offline. Runtime Images can be
saved to the offline PC using the Ethernet interface. The emulator maximizes
machine up time during application development and maintenance. BOA
application setup does not assume programming or machine vision knowledge.
BOA IDR supports standard communication protocols, such as Modbus and
Ethernet/IP, for seamless connection to complementary control devices.

BOA200 PRO - for higher-performance
applications; embedded with Sherlock software
BOA200 PRO combines the robustness of the highly-integrated BOA smart
camera with the flexibility of Sherlock™ inspection software, resulting
in a compact industrial vision solution with diverse applicability across
all manufacturing segments.
Easy to set up, control and integrate
Offered with a range of sensor resolutions, performance grades
and software to accommodate the needs of both application and user, the
embedded software is set up via a local PC connection to BOA using Ethernet.
Once configured for runtime, the Ethernet link can be disconnected or
used to communicate with other devices on the factory floor, such as PLCs,
Robots and HMI's. In addition to Ethernet, BOA cameras provide direct
connections for RS-232 serial, discrete I/O and lamp control. BOA cameras
are supported by various hardware and software accessories to simplify
factory integration.
The benefits of embedded Sherlock
software
Sherlock Embedded has been specifically designed for the BOA PRO vision
system.
The software includes a client design interface, installed on a PC, that
communicates with the server or engine embedded on the camera. During
development, images from the camera are fed directly to the Sherlock GUI
and commands from the program are executed directly on the camera. This
methodology optimizes the user design experience whilst providing an accurate
representation of runtime performance. A secondary interface is available
through a standard web browser for device setup, runtime monitoring and
firmware updating.
Suited to users with challenging
or changing vision requirements, Sherlock offers the design
flexibility and inspection capabilities to satisfy a diverse
range of applications across all industries by allowing users to standardize
on a single deployment platform. User features include:
|
• Flexible programming
