Not being newcomers to award nominations, Teledyne DALAS has followed
tradition by their Piranha
HS NIR 8K TDI camera having been recognized as a finalist
by two professional organisations.
The Best in Test Award
(which recognizes the best tested products) and the Control
Engineering's Engineer's Choice Awards,
which reflect the views of engineers in the field
as to which are the most noteworthy products introduced in the
past year.
In commenting on the nomination, Xing-Fei He, Teledyne DALSA Product

A little about the Piranha HS NIR
This CCD, line scan camera extends Teledyne DALSA's
High-sensitivity product range by providing a cost-effective solution
for imaging in the near infra-red wavelengths from 700 to 1050
nanometers. It offers a selectable time-delay integration (TDI)
of up to a maximum of 256, which enables the observing of a high-speed
moving object under low light conditions normally undetectable
by classic CCD imaging. Read

The benefits of TDI
Imaging in TDI mode provides dramatically increased responsivity
compared to other video scanning methods by permitting much greater
scanning speeds in low light, or allows reduced lighting levels
(and costs) at conventional speeds and so producing a crisp image.
