Wide screen CMOS sensor,
12 Gpx/sec, 1Mpx camera
Capturing high-resolution images at high speeds
with a host of unique features
The v1210, is designed with versatility and flexibility
in mind. It is the ideal solution for applications that require capturing
high-resolution images at high speeds, serving as an excellent
tool for scientists, researchers, and engineers.
Flexible acquisition speeds
and capabilities
Using a proprietary wide screen CMOS sensor, the v1210 can acquire and
save up to 12 Gigapixels-per-second of data resulting in 12 000
fps at its full megapixel resolution of 1280 x 800. At reduced
resolutions, the v1210 offers frame rates of up to 650,000 fps. Further
underscoring its versatility, the camera can be ordered with a unique
FAST option (export controlled), which enables frame rates up
to 1,000,000 fps. The camera has a global electronic
shutter capable of exposures as fast as 1 µs on a standard camera,
or, 500 ns with the export controlled FAST option, to truly “freeze
motion” and eliminate motion blur in the most demanding
of applications.
CMOS sensor
The custom-designed sensor has 28 micron pixels, ensuring superb
light-sensitivity which is essential in high-speed imaging. Standard
12-bit depth per pixel yields high dynamic range and provides excellent
image quality. The rectangular shape of the 1 Mpx sensor allows the user
to keep moving objects in the frame longer and is compatible in aspect
ratio with modern display technology.
Versatile connections
The v1210 has common signal connections conveniently located on its back
panel. Connections include timecode, dual power inputs, HD-SDI, a GPS
input, frame synchronization, and trigger. The two HD-SDI ports can be
configured in several ways. They can act as identical 4:2:2 HD-SDI ports
where one port can be set up to provide an (optional) on-screen display
for monitoring the on-camera controls and camera operation, or, they can
be configured as a single 4:4:4 Dual-Link HD-SDI port.
Recording times and image storage
At high speeds, memory can become a limitation to recording duration and
the v1210 can be equipped with 12GB, 24GB or 48GB of high-speed memory.
Cine-save times can also be minimised by using the Phantom CineMag feature
that comes standard on the v1210 allowing the saving of any shot from
high-speed RAM to a Cinemag in seconds. The contents of a CineMag can
later be viewed on a PC, trimmed, played to video and saved either by
placing the CineMag back on the camera, or using our offline Phantom CineStation
– a simple CineMag reader that connects to your PC with Gb or 10Gb
Ethernet.
