Adept
Turnkey, the high speed camera specialists, are pleased to welcome
the newest Phantom high-speed camera to its cinema and TV-focused
line from Vision Research.
The Phantom Miro M120 was just released at this year's Vision show
in Stuttgart. Marc Fimeri, the managing director of Adept Turnkey
who attended Vision 2011 says "Vision Research have yet again
redefined the boundaries of the high-speed camera market for Film
and TV.
This new camera significantly lowers the barrier for those more
cost-sensitive film and TVC budgets and we expect the uptake of
this camera to be furious and rapid. We have for several years been
unable to provide a lower-cost HD high speed option and while the
Miro M120 does not seek to replace Vision Research's cornerstone
products for Film and TV, the HD Gold and Flex, the Miro M120 will
service a market as yet untapped by high speed camera manufacturers".
Why the Miro-120
is an attractive, low-cost option
Drawing from the success of the Phantom HD, HD Gold, and Flex, the
new Phantom Miro M120
contains many of the advanced features in the high-performance Phantom
cameras at a price affordable for budget to mid-range movie
and TV commercial makers.
While compromising on cost, the lower-priced Miro M120 still focuses
on image quality and produces a result users have come to expect
from Vision Research, and all contained in a compact, rugged and
portable camera.
The Miro M120 provides the cinematographer with an efficient
and fast Raw workflow, capturing footage at 1920 x 1080
resolution, at speeds of up to 800 frames-per-second.
Available in 3, 6, or 12 GB memory configurations, the Miro M120
also introduces a new feature to the Phantom family, CineFlash
(see image below), available in 60, 120 and 240GB sizes. This onboard,
removable non-volatile, storage media, allows a transfer speed of
up to 2.8GB/minute. Multiple cines can be transferred very quickly
from volatile memory to CineFlash and the CineFlash removed and
placed into the CineFlash docking station (see image below) for
download to computer.
You have full control of the Miro M120 camera with an extensive
suite of easy-to-use tools in the supplied Phantom PCC software,
or you can use the optional Phantom Remote Control Unit (RCU) (see
image below) – a tethered (with video) or un-tethered Bluetooth
wireless (without Video) LCD touch screen controller with ergonomic
controls and an easy-to-use interface.
Interchangeable lens mounts are available in 35mm PL, Canon EOS,
Nikon F mount and C mount. The Miro M120 is supplied and can be
run untethered by battery
