The BOA2 is a complete vision system inside a compact, smart camera. Capturing defects that have traditionally been difficult to resolve or lost with lower resolution imagers is easy using BOA2 - Teledyne DALSA's "next generation" smart camera technology.

BOA2 combines lighting, image capture, processing and easy-to-use embedded vision software into a convenient single device. A variety of I/O, different mounting options, more pixels and power make the BOA2 more flexible and easier to integrate and automate parts and assembly inspection. The combination of BOA2 hardware and the iNspect Express softwar user interface ensure production quality, minimises product recalls and reduced costs.

The BOA2 is offered with 2M, 3M or 5M pixel resolution and it's global shutter CMOS sensor can be run at lower resolutions to achieve faster inspection rates. The 2MP model supports an optional integrated LED ring light with built-in collimators that provide powerful, uniform lighting across the inspection area. Maximum frame rate for the 2-megapixel model is up to 80 fps, for the 3-megapixel model - 60 fps and for the 5-pixel model - 40 fps

The sensor supports standard C-mount lenses which, together with the optional LED light, can be enclosed within a protective cover to safeguard against accidental damage or tampering making the BOA2 rated for use in harsh industrial environments.
