New-age sensitivity and crystal-clear images from the latest ev2 NIR CMOS sensor

Go to iDS cameras

A first for iDS: NIR CMOS sensor technology at its very best

Capture fast-moving objects or objects in low-light conditions
iDS is the first manufacturer to integrate the latest iteration of the even more sensitive e2v sensor, (the EV76C661) into their CMOS cameras.

Described as "technology at its very best", the new 1.3 Megapixel sensor from e2v offers excellent sensitivity with a Quantum Efficiency of 80% and outstanding performance and dynamic range in the near-infrared spectrum (40% at 850 nm). Due to the deeper photodiode (which effectively detects long-wave light), Quantum Efficiency is doubled in the range of 800 - 1000 nm making this sensor particularly suited for all applications in the near-infrared.
Combined with its extended wavelength sensitivity and its enhanced global shutter efficiency, cameras using the e2v sensor are perfect for capturing fast-moving objects or objects placed in critical light conditions.
The sensor's HDR mode, low noise and shutter efficiency allows it to deliver crystal-clear and high-quality images at 60 fps at full resolution of 1280 x 1024 or greater than 100 fps at VGA resolution.

Future iDS cameras will incorporate the new NIR CMOS e2v sensor in their USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and GigE series.

Features of the e2v sensor

• Enhanced shutter efficiency • Max. frame rate of 60 fps at full resolution • Low power consumption • Low noise, less artefacts
• Multiple regions of interest • HDR mode • Global shutter plus alternative timing • High Quantum Efficiency (Peak at 70%, 40% at 850 nm)

Applications

Particularly suited for all applications requiring near-infrared imaging as well as for general machine-vision projects
• traffic monitoring • quality inspection • medical technology
