Examples of applications for prism-based solutions
** Printing quality inspection
** Fruit and vegetable sorting
** Ceramic tile surface inspection

JAI's prism-based cameras offer significant advantages over tri- and quad-linear cameras.

Traditionally, colour line scan applications have been dependent on tri-linear or quad-linear technologies whose imaging results can be compromised if a flat surface and perfect alignment can't be assured.

For imaging of complex, high-speed, continuous applications a different line scan approach is needed.

In contrast, Jai's 3-prism cameras capture a single optical plane. The dichroic coatings on the lenses then split the image to three separate sensors and establish highly accurate RGB values for each pixel. (Note: JAI's 4-CCD prism cameras also capture in the near-infrared range)

Jai's prism technology is ideal for complex vision system
applications where the material being inspected:
** isn't flat
** consists of cylindrical, moving objects or
** if the camera needs to be positioned off-axis

Why should you consider a JAI solution?
Better light transmission: no added expense for brighter lights   Steeper spectral curves cause less colour cross-talk between colour channels
Less colour degradation over time
  Increased colour accuracy
JAI's dichroic lens coatings last longer than tri-linear polymer filters   JAI's control of their own design and manufacturing processes results in more flexibility, greater robustness and better value
4-CCD provides simultaneous, separate imaging of red, green and blue PLUS near-infrared light
