Dual
GigE LAG: where the goal is to increase bandwidth

Redefining GigE bandwidth using Link Aggregation |
featuring Allied Vision Technologies'
Prosilica GX family of cameras |
|
What
is Link aggregation?
A computer networking mechanism used to increase interface bandwidth
by bundling multiple Ethernet ports into a single data path. What
that means is that to the host application, two ports appear as
one.
The value of bundling ports and making them look as a single virtual
link is to increase bandwidth and so increase throughput. Since
2000, virtually every switch manufacturer supports Link Aggregation.
Link Aggregation and Allied Vision's
Prosilica GX series
Prosilica GX series of cameras utilise dual GigE LAG technology
and has been recognised
by the machine vision community as being an innovative product.

Due to adopting this technology, the GX series can output data at
a rate of 250 MB per second (2 Gb/s) which permits higher-resolution
and faster sensors to be deployed. |
