uEYE USB 2.0 cameras give 100% compatibility
with USB 3.0 interface
|
iDS are pleased to confirm that, after extensive testing,
the uEye family of USB 2.0 cameras are compatible with
the new UDB3.0 interface. When used with a USB 3.0
connection, 100% of the performance and functionality of the cameras
is available. This compatibility also includes the cables and hubs
which have been used so far.
The cameras were tested using several current PC mainboards from
leading manufacturers that already feature the latest version of
the USB connection.
Advantages of USB 3.0 interface
Dubbed "SuperSpeed USB", this latest version of this digital
bus provides data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/sec which is 10
times faster than USB 2.0. The new interface also features improvements
in power management of connected devices. It omits the polling procedure
in USB2.0 and allows peripheral devices to send data rather than
being requested to by the CPU. This redues CPU load. One point of
note: at this stage estimates indicate that USB3.0 maximum cable
length may be slightly shorter than USB2.0 with standard cables.
For more information please download a White Paper that discusses
the new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface comparing it to USB 2.0. Or
