Single-prism-based design
eliminates tri-camera challenges with their multi-imager product
The
first member of Jai's family of prism-based, colour line scan cameras,
the LT-400CL is built around a series of custom-designed, prism-mounted
CMOS linear sensors each with 4096 pixels resolution and outputting 16,
180 lines-per-second while maintaining image quality at a signal-to-noise
ratio of 55dB or higher.
The principal advantage of prism technology
The single optical plane of the prism-based design eliminates problems
such as off-angle viewing, complicated alignments and other issues, previously
a legacy of traditional tri-camera applications.
Other advantages of prism technology
** Colour "crosstalk"
is minimised by the prism's dichroic coatings on their boundaries. These
coatings provide steep spectral curves and so increase the colour precision
when compared with other multi-image cameras.
** Additionally, the hard
dichroic coatings don't suffer the degradation seen on the soft polymer
dye filters on conventional multi-imaging products. Consequently, the
LT-400CL's design provides accurate colour performance over a longer product
life span resulting in a saving of time, cost and an increase in operational
efficiency.
Applications for the LT-400CL
The ability of this camera to deliver precise colour values for each pixel
makes it ideal for web-based inspections where accurate colour information
is required.
