The Falcon Extended Dynamic Range and High Gain series have four new colour cameras

The DALSA Falcon series has been supplemented by the release of four new Falcon colour cameras in their XDR and HG series

The Dalsa XDR and HG series are distinct in the market featuring 120 frames-per-second one-megapixel models and 300 frames-per-second VGA models . Further differentiation from the competition is their compact size (44mm cube), low power and PoCL (Power Over CameraLink) capacity which reduces cabling requirements to a single mini-CameraLink connector.

High-speed , smear-free imaging is the hallmark of DALSA's Falcon cameras and to meet the need for imaging fast-moving objects without smear or distortion, DALSA offers true global shutter CMOS and interline transfer CCDs, both technolgies being able to "stop the action" through electronic shuttering.

The Falcon colour series includes XDR models, optimised for high dynamic range and HG models optimised for high sensitivity, with resolutions from VGA to 4 megapixels and frame rates up to 300 fps.

Providing very high frame rates at multiple resolutions, (VGA to 1.4 M), the cameras are more suited to applications that need colour with fast frame rates and can be deployed in applications that inlcude : ** electronic PCB inspection **print inspection (registration control) ** fruit inspection ** traffic applications and many more.

The colour Falcon series can also be successfully used in industrial metrology (gauging) and other general machine vision applications, where more than the standard 60 fps is required.

Some specific examples where the Falcon cameras have been successfully deployed are: ** bread/pastry inspection ** eye contact inspection ** surface roughness and contour measurement ** glass container inspection and ** container seal inspection.
