Two new Camera Link versions of the popular 0.4 megapixel C3 series

Announcing the CM-040 MCL monochrome and the CB-040 MCL colour progressive scan compact cameras

Jai logo

Based on strong customer demand, JAI has introduced two Mini Camera Link versions of its popular 0.4-megapixel C3 Compact Series cameras.

The new progressive scan CM-040MCL (monochrome) and CB-040MCL (Bayer colour) join the list of camera models Jai provide as part of their C3 Compact series of cameras for customers who require small size, high quality and advanced functionality at a cost effective price.

At 776 x 582 pixels, the "040" models provide slightly greater resolution than basic VGA models while maintaining a high frame rate of 60 fps. The cameras utilize the Sony ICX415 CCD and, while at full resolution, output is at 61 frames/second, higher frame rates can be achieved by using the partial scan or vertical binning modes.

Bucking the trend of many manufacturers who are releasing GigE camera models Jai has released these Mini-CameraLink models because is ideal for applications that need higher bandwidth, real-time signaling, and lower latency than is possible using GigE interfaces.

The CM-040MCL and CB-040MCL feature auto-iris lens video output to support dynamic lighting conditions usually found in outdoor applications such as Intelligent Traffic systems and Surveillance.

Both models are available with an optional factory-installed Right Angle Adapter. The adapter enables the camera to “look” at a 90º angle and is designed for a range of inspection tasks where physical access is limited.

The cameras are also available in a GigE Vision version.

How can I use the CM-040MCL and CB-040MCL Compact cameras in my application?
*** Automotive industry (eg. inspection, high-precision gauging and process monitoring
*** Pharmaceuticals (eg. Inspection of blister packages, fill level control)
*** Beverage industry (eg. control of fill levels of defective bottles)
*** Food industry (eg. sorting)
*** Electronics inspection
