These highly versatile cameras are distributed to Australia and New Zealand exclusively by Adept Electronic Solutions.

The success of the Spyder3 camera family is primarily due to the use of DALSA’s patented dual line scan sensor technology. The Spyder3 family provides better sensitivity, ease of use, and the most cost-effective solution for many applications. Since its release, the Spyder3 camera has become one of the most successful imaging products in the marketplace. It has been designed into applications such as flat panel display inspection, postal sorting, wood and steel inspection, food inspection, web inspection and many others.

The Spyder3 line scan camera series surpasses its predecessor the Spyder2 with three times more sensitivity and twice the speed without impacting image noise levels. It offers 1k and 2k pixel resolution with a large pixel area of 14µm x14µm giving very high sensitivity. The Spyder3 cameras are suitable for many applications where low light levels prevail and image quality is important.

The GigE Vision camera interface standard was developed specially for digital imaging and it allows fast image transfer over a Gigabit Ethernet communication link. It also enables users to easily integrate available components and so reduce time and cost in development and integration. Through the development of the GigE Spyder3, which has been registered by the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) as GigE Vision compliant, DALSA demonstrates their commitment to develop a standard GigE line scan platform for the machine vision industry.

The high performance GigE Vision interface on the Spyder3 cameras allows image transfer directly to host PC memory without a frame grabber, further reducing system costs. Additionally it allows for cable lengths of up to 100 meters and multicasting to multiple PCs for parallel processing operations. The Spyder3 cameras operate and transfer images flawlessly with less than 1% of the computer's processing power.

The Spyder3 camera series is available with the QuickCam Graphical User Interface and SDK. This GUI enables for fast configuration, giving the user access to the camera to begin imaging right away!

The QuickCam GUI performs tasks such as flat field correction or setting lines and exposure modes easily and quickly, making configuration a breeze. The QuickCam SDK is simple to use and provides access to all the features of the camera for personalized development and interfaces. This makes QuickCam a powerful and versatile tool for beginners as well as experienced vision integrators.
