High Quality Machine Vision Lighting - CCS Lighting

CCS lighting covers a wide range and so there is generally a model suitable for most industrial machine vision applications. CCS lighting is used to optimise the feature contrast in an image and so make the vision system more accurate and more reliable in its operation. Available in various colours including white, CCS lights can be used to spectrally separate features or minimise chromatic aberration found in the vision system optics.

CCS Back lights are used for silhouetting objects in order to enhance the edge features of an object and so optimise the accuracy of edge or hole measures. There flat illumination makes thresholding very easy. General purpose Ring lights from CCS are used for front lighting on objects that are not too shiny to provide flat and direct illumination. The LFR series Ring lights however are wide and flat and so provide more indirect lighting which tends to hide 3D features on the surface of an object.

The CCS Low Angle lights are used to highlight 3D features on a surface and are available in both Ring configuration and as square lights. These are suitable for applications like reading embossed characters on a shiny surface such as a spanner.

Other indirect lighting from CCS is designed to provide very diffuse light for shiny surfaces with 3D features in order to hide the 3D features. Reading text on alfoil for example can b done using a Coaxial Indirect light from CCS.
