What is UVC?
The primary advantage of a camera with this capability is its platform-independent
operation within Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other operating system
platforms, without the need to install a device driver.
UVC capability makes deployment easier
A camera with UVC standard (USB video class) means that no proprietary
driver is necessary as the camera works automatically with the system-supplied
driver; the UVC driver queries the hardware directly to obtain its capabilities
and then drives the device - no other intervention is required
About the XC UVC-enabled camera
The UV-3013XC camera offers 13 megapixel resolution (4192 x 3104) and
a number of auto features such as autofocus, auto gain, automatic white
balance and automatic backlight compensation. Features such as brightness,
contrast, saturation, sharpness and exposure control can be adjusted manually.
Users can also implement their own applications via DirectShow (Windows)
or Video4Linux (Linux).
The robust housing, screw-on USB connector, and long-term availability make the USB 3 uEye XC suitable for industrial use and the UVC standard ensures the use of the camera on all operating systems and platforms without additional driver installation.
An UI-3013XC version is also available with the iDS Software Suite for manual configuration of camera parameters
