AxCIS: Contact image sensor for demanding machine vision 

The AxCIS line scan imaging family from Teledyne Vision Solutions is a fully integrated module designed for high-speed linescan imaging where ease of use and space constraints are paramount. Built as an all-in-one alternative to traditional line scan setups, AxCIS combines sensors, lenses, and internal lighting to deliver superior signal-to-noise ratios in a compact form factor. 

The efficiency of AxCIS is driven by Teledyne’s new quadlinear CMOS technology, providing up to 120 kHz line rates and 900 dpi resolution. This allows for precise defect detection at high speeds, ensuring your production line maintains maximum throughput without sacrificing quality. 

Teledyne Vision Solutions has also announced an upcoming expansion to the AxCIS family, with new high-resolution models offering up to 1,800 dpi and extended lengths up to 1,500 mm arriving soon.

Designed for versatility, the AxCIS linescan series features a Camera Link HS SFP+ fibre optic interface, enabling reliable high-speed data transmission up to 300 metres over standard low-cost cables . The staggered sensor design ensures a 100% seamless image across the entire field of view, eliminating missing pixels and the need for complex alignment as is the case with other contact sensors on the market. 

Available in monochrome and colour, AxCIS linescan modules come in widths starting at 400 mm, with customisable increments to fit any industrial environment, even those with limited vertical clearance.
