Precision Imaging for High-Speed Research
The KT840 has a compact body and weighs only 3.2kg which makes it easier to install and allows for tight lab spaces and intricate experimental configurations. It includes programmable input and output functions to support custom triggering and synchronisation. Features such as Extreme Dynamic Range assist with managing pixel saturation during bright events. Functions like image-based auto trigger, multi Cine partitions and continuous recording through PCC software are included to streamline workflow and make it easier to use.
The on-camera controls and removable CF Express media enable use in the field without a laptop and allows untethered recording. When used in a laboratory environment, its 10Gb Ethernet connection provides reliable control and fast data transfer through PCC software.
The KT840 is designed for applications such as fluid dynamics, biomechanics, microfluidics, projectile flight analysis and impact physics. Its sensor design supports light-limited applications and its sensitivity (as well as other performance parameters) is calibrated and documented with the EMVA1288 testing standard. This enables its true pixel response and performance to be scientifically quantified in engineering units and its superiority accurately measured against other high-speed camera products. The BSI sensor achieves a very high QExFF (Quantum Efficiency x Fill-Factor) of 88.7 percent with the mono option. Its binning capability increases frame rates and allows control of the image aspect ratio.
The KT840 outputs raw unprocessed image files without any manipulation and so allows users direct control over correction settings to produce images that meet their needs. It is compatible with common scientific imaging platforms and integrates with standard analysis tools.
Some of the specific applications the KT840 is used for include stress and strain analysis with 2D and 3D DIC, high-speed high-magnification microscopy, materials analysis and product drop testing, precision machining analysis and impact testing such as Hopkinson Bar tests and many more.
Technical resources such as data sheets, EMVA reports, spectral response information and case studies are available to support users.
Accessories including lens mounts, CF Express media, I/O cables and a carry case are available separately. The Phantom Software Suite provides camera control, file conversion and advanced motion analysis through PCC and PCA, and an SDK is provided for integration with Python, MATLAB and LabVIEW.
Overall, the Phantom KT840 provides a combination of high-speed recording, low-light capability and workflow features that support scientific imaging tasks in both laboratory and field environments. |
