Supported Hardware Platforms
The GigE-V Framework supports multiple hardware platforms, making it suitable for a diverse range of applications. The supported architectures include:
• x86: Intel/AMD 32-bit and 64-bit CPUs.
• ARMv8: 64-bit ARM 8 (ie Nvidia Jetson Platform).
• ARMv7 Hard Float: 32-bit ARM 7 with hardware floating point platform.
• ARM Soft Float: 32-bit ARM for software emulated floating point platform.
For machine vision applications, we recommend choosing long-term support (LTS) Linux distributions. LTS ensures the availability of critical system updates, ensuring system stability and long-term security.

Recommended LTS Distributions:

Ubuntu
• New LTS versions are released every 2 years.
• Starting with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, each version receives 5 years of standard support.
• Support can be extended to 10 years via an Ubuntu Pro subscription.
• Example: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS receives extended support until April 2036.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• RHEL provides up to 10 years of support through standard and extended life phases.
• Example: RHEL 9 is supported until May 2032.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)
• Based on the open-source OpenSUSE project.
• Commercial versions offer long-term support with a subscription.
• Example: SLES 15 receives extended support until July 31, 2034 with a paid subscription.
