Cost-effective industrial camera with Sony IMX992 and SenSWIR sensor

Allied Vision has launched the Alvium U-530 with a USB3 interface, featuring Sony’s 2nd Generation IMX992 SenSWIR sensor. This compact camera (38 × 29 × 29 mm) is sensitive in the visible through to the SWIR spectrum and delivers high-resolution images at 77 frames per second. Weighing just 65 g, it offers low power consumption and a cost-effective design (SWaP+C).

Allied Vision’s Alvium VSWIR cameras are the smallest industrial-grade short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging devices on the market ideally suited to building extremely compact systems for applications with limited space, such as handheld devices or drones. Alvium VSWIR cameras support a wide spectral range from 400nm to 1700nm with high quantum efficiencies. This allows Alvium VSWIR users to capture images in both the visible and SWIR spectra with a single camera.

The Alvium camera series is a cutting-edge camera platform that integrates embedded sensor modules with Allied Vision's proprietary ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit). Allied Vision’s customised ASIC with integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP) and Image Processing Library (IPL) gives Allied Vision full control of their camera design and allows them to manufacture a flexible product at a competitive price.
