Adept Turnkey awarded Distribution of MatchID Digital Image Correlation software for Aus/NZ

Adept Turnkey's Managing Director Marc Fimeri is "happy and proud to announce our new partnership with MatchID DIC software. MatchID have selected Adept Turnkey to supply and support their world class Digital Image Correlation software in the Oceania region. We are excited and look forward to the opportunity to provide this world leading DIC software and to remove any risk or integration complications for our customers by expertly matching the software to our very wide selection of cameras and associated imaging products."

MatchID MetrologyBeyond Colors, N.V. - a spin-off company of the University of Leuven, offers solutions in imaging techniques for strain measurement, Finite Element Analysis model validation and automated identification of mechanical material properties.

Pascal Lava Founder and the Managing Director of MatchID says "Adept Turnkey is a dynamic company with a heart for smart engineering and a key focus on carefully selected products. Moreover, they bring to us complimentary experience from both a low-speed and high-speed imaging perspective."

As a measurement tool, Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is a newly accepted cutting-edge technique used in both industry and academia. DIC allows full field, contactless 3D measurement of deformations at the surface of any type of material and under arbitrary loading. The technique combines ease-of-use with great flexibility:

o From microscale (SEM, AFM) to very large fields of view (> 100 m)
o From low-speed quasi-static testing to ultra-high-speed imaging (1MHz)
o From deformations at the small strain level (~50 µm/m) up to the highest strains encountered

Nowadays, DIC is still too often used in a qualitative manner rather than as a metrological tool, e.g. to detect strain localization, to detect crack formation or to visualize some deformation pattern. One of the reasons for this is that the post-processing of the images can be a daunting task for the less experienced user, yielding incorrect strain fields when not done properly. MatchID DIC offers the ease and flexibility to do this accurately which make it an excellent quantitative measurement tool.

MatchID's tagline is "Metrology beyond colors", offering the DIC system of the future where the main focus lies on the metrological aspects of the system. Some of the key features of MatchID's offering include:

- Quantitative interpretation of results focusing on measurement resolution and spatial resolution with integrated error assessment
- Optimal test setups and processing: patterns, experimental tools and automated post-processing
- Customized application development
- In-depth training: annual courses by experts in the field

Moreover, integration is key to the MatchID philosophy. The embedded virtual fields method (VFM) for material identification establishes seamless communication between DIC results and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural validation of simulations. MatchID does not rely on simple point-cloud matching procedures, but truly marries simulations to experimental results, and so generates a true digital twin.

MatchID is as much a software platform as it is a community of engineers and scientists, finding ways to optimize research experiments. Customers show the way to keep pioneering and keep pushing DIC forward. MatchID supports this with training and the transfer of knowledge via their annual DIC-courses, wiki, webinars and research program support.

Although MatchID was recently founded in 2014, they have quickly established a broad base of customers in academia and industry which encompasses the US, Europe, China regions and soon Oceania. MatchID has become an internationally recognized 3D measurement company that combines quality with high performance.
