Thank you to all who visited our stand at SMPTE13
The
SMPTE Sydney exhibition was very successful and we were kept
busy with a continuous flow of designers, directors, producers
and other visitors interested in our extreme
SLO-MO cameras and our small
1080/60P Point-of-View cameras.
On show: Phantom M320S and Flex 2k
Among our numerous exhibits, we demonstrated
the Phantom
M320S and Phantom
Flex2K, set up as they would be in a production
environment. The Miro M320S was configured with a Phantom
Remote Control Unit and a small video recorder with LCD viewfinder.
This allows the operator to save the recording as the high
speed sequence is being viewed and proofed. This provides
a clean, quick and elegant workflow, although in some cases
our customers prefer a raw workflow by using the
Phantom Cineflash storage
device. The Phantom Flex2K has On-Camera-Controls
and with a viewfinder and Cinemag was configured for a raw
workflow.
We would like to thank Borce Damcevski from 8 Days
a Week Productions who gave up a considerable amount
of his time to help us set up the M320S and Flex2K demos.
He also allowed us to use his Phantom Miro M320S, with lenses
and other associated accessories. Borce's artistic flare and
showmanship came to the forefront in designing the live demo
for the M320S and the Phantom Flex. He now has bigger and
better plans for SMPTE 2015. There is no holding him back.
A warm thanks to Borce.
On show: iMovix X10
We also demonstrated the new iMovix X10 broadcast
camera for Super Slo-Mo at live sports broadcast
events. The X10 is powered by a Phantom
high speed camera and connects seamlessly in a live
broadcast environment.
Direct connection to SMPTE cable, audio channels,
tallies and an excellent colour-matching capability
makes the X10 perfectly familiar to operators in the broadcast
industry.
The X10 records continuously at 10x speed and directly to
an EVS XT3 with Ultra-Motion for over 2 hours. This provides
operators with the ability to jog back to any action recorded
for up to 2 hours previously and play it at any speed via
control of a T-bar controller. X10 is a unique product
in the current market. Check
out the X10 here
Thanks to Dylan and Adam from Amber Technology
who distribute the EVS systems in Australia and who allowed
us to use the EVS XT3 with our iMovix X10 at SMPTE. With their
help we were able to demonstrate the power and quality of
combining these two products. Thanks guys and thanks
Amber Tech.
On
show: IO Industries Flare 2KSDI Point-of-View
camera
Also on display was the new IO Industries
Flare 2KSDI 1080/60P Point-of-View camera.
This small HD-SDI camera is typically used in places
where a conventional camera doesn't fit e.g, corner
posts or goal posts, moving vehicles, UAV’s etc.
Many favourable comments about this camera's exceptional
picture quality were received from interested visitors
to our stand. It offers the full control you would
expect from a Film/TV camera and yet is only
63x63x41mm and weighs 310 grams.
Check out the IO Industries Flare 2kSDI
camera here.
Worth the wait: The new Phantom Flex 4K
We were unable to have the exciting, new Phantom Flex4K on
the stand as there are a very limited number available around
the world at the moment; however, Vision Research plan to
release them to production in October.
Instead of the camera, we displayed some exceptional
footage taken with it of a fire scene in New York,
and provided by Vision Research and Abel Cine.
This footage is remarkable and anyone that viewed it clearly
understood the quality of image that this camera produces
in 4K at 1000 fps and at normal production frame rates.
We look forward to receiving this camera and presenting
it to the Australian market in the near future and will keep
you posted.
In the meantime, click here for more
information.
Further
acknowledgements
We would also like to acknowledge Chris Bryan from
Chris Bryan Films from whose skiing video we lifted
a frame to print on our M320S poster. Take a look Chris's
video on Vimeo It is VERY cool.
And a final, kind
acknowledgement to Lemac from whom we rented our monitors
and who were very helpful and supportive.
For
those of you to whom we spoke at SMPTE13 and who require our
help,
we will be in touch in the next couple of days.
Thanks again for visiting, and see you next time at SMPTE
2015, if not sooner.
Best regards
Marc Fimeri
