Prosilica GX series:
the perfect balance of speed, resolution, functionality
Go to AVT Cameras
Finally! No
more need for trade-offs: both high-resolution AND
double-speed
The best about Prosilica GX
Described by the manufacturer as "fast, sharp and groundbreaking",
the Prosilica GX family of cameras supply the perfect balance between
resolution and speed pushing 240 MB per second through its dual GigE Vision
interface.
The GX-Series has two screw-captivated Gigabit Ethernet ports configured
as a Link Aggregation Group (LAG) to provide
a sustained maximum data rate of 240 MBytes per second. The result is
that high-resolution images can be transmitted at speeds never before
possible and by any other GigE camera in the market at the time of this
publishing.
Compelling
features
Up to 8 Megapixels
of crystal-clear resolution
Capturing high-quality, high-resolution images with the Latest Kodak
CCD sensor, the Prosilica GX series features five models with 1
to 8 Megapixel resolution (see specs below).
New lens-mount combination
The GX series boast being the first 8-Megapixel, F-Mount GigE
camera in the market.
Perfect lens control |

GX industrial inspection ..Driving
the optical settiings is made easier with the unique three-axis
motorized lens control and |
video auto-iris functionality. Due to its
dedicated lens control interface, the camera adapts to changing lighting
or object distance conditions when used for demanding applicaitons
such as outfoor imaging or Intellilgent Transport Systems. |
Keeping its cool
The cameras' ribbed housing has been especially designed for heat
dissipation. The combination of a compact, rugged enclosure and optimized
thermal management results in the delivery of high-quality images
even in tough environments at up to 50°C room temperature.
The advantage of GigE Technology
In addition, the GigE technology offers very long cable lengths (up
to 100 meters) using standard Cat5e cables and a low-cost interface
that is widely used in computer networking hardware. |

What is LAG technology?
The LAG technology enables the use of mulitiple ethernet cables/ports
in order to increase the link speed beond the limits of any one single cable/port.
When applied to image capture, when the camera is connected by two cables
to the host computer, it sees the camera as one connection at twice the
normal speed (240 MB/s). The Prosilica GX can also operate using a single
standard CAT-5e Ethernet cable at 120 MB/s.
