Allied Vision Technologies celebrate with an explosion
of new products
|
Timed to coincide
with the world’s leading trade show for imaging Vision in Stuttgart,
in November, AVT introduced five new products at once, among them
the first GigE Vision camera with a
240 MB/sec data rate. With a group of new products described
by AVT as "a fireworks display of technical innovations",
they hope to consolidate their leading position in the digital camera
market. |
|
Among
the new releases are: |
Prosilica
GX: fastest GigE Vision camera in
the world |
|
Heralded
by AVT as "the highlight and technological breakthrough in
GigE cameras", the Prosilica GX shatters earlier
speed records with a maximum data rate of up to 240 MB/sec
– more than double the average GigE Vision
speed of 100 MB/sec.
This speed record is made possible by the clever application of the
Link Aggregation Group Technology (LAG): the camera is equipped with
two Gigabit Ethernet connections so that the available bandwidth
for image data transmission is doubled. Consequently, high-resolution
images can be transferred from the camera to the
PC at unparalleled speeds for GigE.

Manta:
riding out the recession on a GigE camera |
|
Cost-effective:
At the other end of the AVT product spectrum, another GigE camera
family celebrated its premiere in Stuttgart.
The Manta is a simple, robust digital camera with
a GigE Vision interface, providing a high-quality camera
for little cost.
Available with the most common Sony sensors of up to 2 megapixel
resolution, it’s the perfect solution, in difficult economic
times, for industrial users who are looking for proven AVT dependability
without placing high demands on complex image preprocessing functions.

Stingray GE: Transformer camera now with GigE
interface
FireWire AND GigE
First introduced two years ago, the AVT Stingray is now
available with a GigE Vision interface in addition
to the FireWire IEEE1394b interface.
The Stingray’s modular construction accommodates a wide
range of special configuration requirements simply and economically.
The Stingray GE will be available in five resolutions
from VGA to 5 megapixels.
In the development of this model, all of AVT’s know-how
was used to fully exploit the GigE Vision interface’s
potential. The results are, among others, high image rates up
to 120 fps in VGA resolution.

Turbo-Guppy: new Guppy Pro with IEEE1394b
The Guppy camera family is expanding to include new FireWire
models with fast IEEE1394b interfaces.
With their extremely compact housing dimensions (29x29x29 mm),
the Guppy Pro is likely the smallest 1394b camera in the world.
Also equipped with sensors ranging from VGA up to 5 megapixels,
it provides faster data transfer for applications
in tight places for a very attractive price-to-performance
ratio. |

New
11 and 16 megapixel Pike
The Pike camera line, the AVT flagship in the FireWire area, is
also expanding with two new high-resolution models.
The Pike F-1100 and F-1600 are equipped with highly-sensitive
11 or 16 megapixel Kodak sensors.
Due to the sensors’ size, these two new Pike models have
a special housing, but retain the Pike family’s IEEE1394b-interface
and comprehensive image optimization functions (AVT Smart Features)
for outstanding image quality.

Grube, President & CEO of Allied Vision Technologies, said:
“We’re especially proud of our showing at this year’s
Vision show and particularly of our many new product developments
that were shown there. While other companies have had to make
drastic cuts during the economic crisis of 2009, AVT has invested
in a spectacular display of technical innovations. |
