Low noise, small size, high sensitivity CCD progressive scan cameras

NIR CMOS Photonfocus cameraJai Cameras
High Resolution Colour Cameras
High Resolution Mono Cameras

Two new members in the C3 Compact series: CM-141MCL (monochrome) and CB-141MCL (colour) from Jai

Equipped with the high-sensitivity Sony CCD sensor ICX-285, these new 1.4 megapixel cameras come with Mini Camera Link interfaces and Power over Camera Link interfaces.

Compared to the previous generation, the new CM-141MCL and CB-141MCL provide better signal/noise ratio, 30 frames/second triggered, lower prices, smaller size and the “unlimited digital switchability” benefits of the C3 Camera Suite.

The combination of high sensitivity CCD sensor, high signal to noise ratio (> 58 dB), 30 fps in triggered mode and the small size, position these new cameras as particularly suitable in machine vision, food sorting, traffic and surveillance applications and
medical imaging.

Both cameras run at 30 frames per second (continuous or triggered) with full resolution and a variety of trigger modes are provided including reset continuous triggering (RCT) which enables the camera to operate in continuous mode while awaiting a trigger signal.

Other features includes pre-set shutter speeds up to 1/10,000 second and programmable exposures as short as 63 µs for capturing very fast moving objects.

With the Mini Camera Link interface the cameras housing is very small - 29mm (H) x 44mm (W) x 75mm (L) – which makes the camera suitable for applications in robotics and any application with little physical space.

The CM-141MCL and CB-141MCL are being offered by Adept at attractive prices and provide one of the best price/performance ratios in the market.

Key Features include:

  • Excellent sensitivity and spectral response
  • Low noise operation
  • 30 frames/second in triggered mode
  • Small size
  • Very long product life cycles
  • Attractive price level

A host of standard features are included some of which are

  • High sensitivity sensor, 2/3” progressive scan CCD
  • 1392 (h) x 1040 (v) resolution
  • Fast pixel clock frequency (58MHz)
  • Signal/noise ratio > 58 dB at 30fps triggered
  • Manual gain control (-3dB to +24 dB)
  • NIR capabilities (CM-141MCL only)
  • 30 frames/second with full resolution
  • Up to 141 frames/second with variable partial scan
  • Programmable exposures as short as 63 µs for capturing fast moving objects

Applications for the CM-141MCL and CB-141MCL series:

A combination of high-sensitivity CCD chip, high signal/noise ratio (S/N > 58 dB), small size and attractive price levels position these cameras as being particularly suitable in the following imaging applications

  • Machine vision applications
  • Medical applications (Life science applications and spectroscopy - identifying or investigating sample composition of human tissue
  • Food sorting looking for internal decay or damage of the fruit (NIR capabilities of the CM-141MCL camera)
  • High resolution surveillance/security applications including biometrics applications such as facial and iris recognition
  • Traffic enforcement and traffic management of fast moving vehicles in daytime or using invisible (NIR) night-time illumination.
