Designed
for speed and flexibility and using a widescreen CMOS monochrome or colour
sensor, the V2511 is an excellent tool for researchers, scientists and
engineers who need to capture high-resolution images at very high
speeds.
Acquiring and saving more than 25 gigapixels-per-second of data and offering
full megapixel resolution of 1280 x 800, means that greater than 25,000
frames-per-second can be achieved at full 1 megapixel
resolution. At reduced resolution, the v2511 provides frame rates
of up to 677,600 fps. Equipped with the unique FAST option
(export controlled) enables frame rates up to 1,000,000 fps at
128 x 32 resolution and so further expanding the v2511’s
versatility.
The camera's CMOS sensor has 28 micron pixels and an innovative
design to ensure the level of light-sensitivity -- essential in ultra-high-speed
imaging -- while standard 12-bit depth per pixel yields high dynamic range
and provides excellent image quality.
The v2511's ease-of-use features include common signal connections conveniently
located on its back panel, and include connections for timecode, dual
power inputs, HD-SDI, a GPS input, frame synchronization, and trigger.
The two HD-SDI ports can be configured in several ways and can act as
identical 4:2:2 HD-SDI ports where one port can be set up to provide an
(optional) on-screen display for monitoring the on-camera controls and
camera operation. They can also be configured as a single 4:4:4 Dual-Link
HD-SDI port.
An internal mechanical shutter allows for automatic and remote black references,
ensuring high image-quality even when it is not possible to cover the
lens manually prior to a shot.
The camera is supplied with a Nikon F-mount that also supports G-mount
lenses. Alternatively, it can use a Canon EF mount or C-mount.
Equipped with 24GB, 48GB or 96GB of high-speed memory, attaching a Phantom
CineMag feature (that comes standard on the v2511), cine save times can
be minimize. The CineMag feature saves any shot from high-speed RAM to
a CineMag in seconds.

Image Storage
At ultrahigh-speeds, memory can become a limitation to recording length.
A camera with 96GB of memory, recording at 10,000 fps at 1280 x 800 can
record a single high-speed shot for up to 6.2 seconds. Or, segment memory
into up to 63 segments and record shorter cines (high speed shots) into
each segment.
Minimize cine save times with the Phantom CineMag feature that is standard
on all ultrahigh-speed models. With the ability to save 1GB/s of data to
an attached CineMag, a 96GB shot can be saved in about 1.5 minutes. The
resulting cine is securely stored in non-volatile memory and can later be
viewed on a PC, trimmed, played to video, and saved either by placing the
CineMag back on the camera, or using our offline Phantom CineStation®
which is CineMag reader that connects to a PC with Gb or 10Gb Ethernet.
