Specialised Imaging Aurora ultra high-speed video camera
The ultimate high-speed video camera, with capture speeds up to 20 million images per second.
The Specialised Imaging AURORA combines the flexibility of a high-speed video camera with the speed and resolution approaching that of ultra high-speed framing cameras. The range includes Aurora5M, Aurora10M and Aurora20M models, with 900 x 740 pixel, 10-bit imaging and exposure times down to 25ns.
A custom patented sensor architecture supports 180 images at full 900 x 740 resolution, while Aurora10M and Aurora20M also support 360-image capture at 900 x 370 pixels. AURORA can be synchronised with external devices such as another AURORA, KIRANA or laser, and can record before an event with triggering before, during or after the event.
Features
Up to 20 million images per second
Aurora20M delivers capture speeds up to 20Mfps, with Aurora10M and Aurora5M offering up to 10Mfps and 5Mfps respectively.
Exposure times down to 25ns
Adjustable exposure supports extremely fast events, with minimum exposure times of 100ns, 50ns and 25ns across the Aurora5M, Aurora10M and Aurora20M models.
180 or 360 image capture
Capture 180 frames at 900 x 740 pixels, with 360-image operation available on Aurora10M and Aurora20M at 900 x 370 pixels.
Pre and post-event triggering
AURORA can record prior to an event and be triggered before, during or after the event.
External synchronisation
Frame synchronisation supports external devices including another KIRANA, AURORA or laser.
Patented sensor architecture
The novel BSI sensor architecture is designed for ultra high-speed image capture.
Nikon F-Mount
Nikon F-Mount lens fitting provides a practical optical interface for experimental imaging setups.
Gigabit Ethernet communications
Remote camera control and image transfer are provided through standard 1Gbps Ethernet communications.
