BOA vision systems are available in a range of resolutions for monochrome and colour applications, with three performance options: 1X BOA, 1.5X BOA50 and 4X BOA200.
The BOA family combines camera, processing, communications and embedded software in a compact industrial housing. Depending on the selected version, users can choose iNspect Express, identification-focused IDR software or advanced Sherlock inspection software.
Designed to IP67, BOA cameras are suited to factory environments including wash-down situations. They can be configured through a web browser and used for identification, measurement, verification, flaw detection and other automated inspection tasks.

BOA INS provides an integrated vision platform for users who need straightforward setup and deployment. The embedded iNspect Express software is designed for users with different levels of machine vision experience and does not require programming knowledge.

BOA IDR
Identification and validation with a focused subset of iNspect Express tools
BOA IDR is an image-based identification and verification camera designed to help manufacturers identify parts for traceability and error proofing. It supports product identification and tracking in high-speed automotive, consumer products, electronics, packaging and pharmaceutical applications.
The embedded IDR software combines 1D and 2D code reading, OCR and pattern recognition tools. Setup is completed through a web browser interface, while advanced scripting, user administration, logging and an offline emulator support more complex or validated applications.
Vision capabilities
- Data Matrix, QR Code and PDF417, with square and rectangular formats and supported grading standards.
- UPCa, UPCe, EAN8, EAN13, Code39, Code93, Code128, Codabar, BC412, ITF, Postnet, Planet, Pharmacode, RSS and GS1.
- Trainable binary and greyscale OCR for dark or bright characters, multi-line fields and character scoring.
- Area- or edge-based recognition with score, location and rotation reporting.

BOA PRO
Higher-performance smart cameras with embedded Sherlock inspection software
BOA PRO combines the rugged BOA smart-camera platform with Sherlock inspection software for a compact industrial vision system suited to challenging or changing inspection requirements.
The system is configured through a PC connected by Ethernet. After runtime setup, Ethernet can be disconnected or used to communicate with PLCs, robots and HMIs. BOA PRO also provides RS-232 serial communications, discrete I/O and lamp control.
