The PC414 is a fully sealed 'shoebox' size industrial computer designed for use in harsh environments, with its construction effectively sealing the computer components from potentially damaging dust and moisture. The integral heatsink allows internally generated heat to be efficiently dissipated. The PC414 incorporates a 6 slot PCI/ISA passive backplane (or optionally 6 slot ISA) allowing installation of a large range of half or full length boards including processor boards, video, controller or data acquisition boards. All processors offered with the system are rated to 60°C. The passive backplane provides easy maintenance and a simple upgrade path. The FDD and optional CD-ROM are accessed via a sealed door. The unit has substantial defences against vibration and shock: there are shock mounts for HDD and FDD; our unique multi-point board clamping system is used; and the whole unit is fitted with anti-vibration mounts. The PC414 is most suitable for remote PC applications where the environment is dusty or moist, such as foundries, mining sites or heavy materials manufacturing industries. |
