Setting a new standard for precise colour line scan technology

Sweep+ SW2000T-CL (3-CMOS sensor) and Sweep+ SW2000Q-CL (4-CMOS sensor)
JAI’s Sweep+ Series uses multiple sensors and advanced prism technology to provide the best possible performance, precision, and versatility for web and continuous imaging applications. Two new models are available with Camera Link interfaces.

Three factors contribute to the top performance of these cameras:

Proprietary prism technology
Jai's proprietary colour technology provides full spatial resolution for each band RGB + NIR (through the same optical path) giving very precise color registration, the finest details, and improved edge sharpness.

Large 20 µm x 20 µm pixels

The cameras feature sensors with 400 µm2 pixel area to collect photons. A large photon collection area combined with large pixel quantum wells provide high sensitivity, high dynamic range and an excellent signal/noise ratio to maximize image quality.

Special JAI lenses optimized for perfect “system” match
The Sweep+ SW models are available with special JAI lenses designed to match perfectly with the cameras' prism-technology.

The combination of these features set a new standard in industrial colour line scan imaging.

Offering a combination of JAI’s well-known prism technology, a specially optimized JAI lens, and CMOS sensors with large 20 µm x 20 µm pixels, these new color line scan cameras deliver the best-of-breed in colour reproduction, RGB colour alignment, edge sharpness, signal-to-noise ratio and scan rates (80 kHz).

The benefits

Better images in all inspection situations - No parallax issues; no complex alignment procedures for off-angle viewing or inspection of cylindrical/wavy objects
Lower configuration costs - lower set-up costs due to faster configuration and single optical plane that simplifies positioning and encoding tasks
High speed and high sensitivity - Advanced sensor technology and better light transmittance reduces illumination requirements for better performance at lower cost
Lower cost of ownership - Reliable and durable technology maintains colour consistency longer than tri-linear filters.
Good price/performance point - Efficient manufacturing keeps costs surprisingly affordable.

Key features

• High signal/noise ratio for oustanding image quality
• Individual settings of shutter time
• 20 µm x 20 µm pixels gives higher scan speeds
• Ethernet port for remote settings
• Selectable resolution for flexibility
• JAI lens technology for perfect match
• Two sensor operation modes
• No halo (image distortions) problems

Applications
Food inspection (frozen food, rice grains, coffee beans, peas, cereals, tea and tobacco)
Fruit and vegetable sorting. Inspecting colours, ripeness, damages, signs of early decay, foreign objects

Web inspection (textile, paper, glass and film)
Inspection and sorting of waste at recycle station

2D color print inspection - magazines, currency (simultaneous inspection of colour correctness, water marks, woven security features)
3D colour print inspection (on cylindrical items like cans, bottles, pens, etc. or inspection of rotating/turning objects, where it is important to inspect all “angles” of an item)

Wood inspection (looking for wood structures like knots, grain and colour to be able to make correct cuttings and sorting in different qualities
Paint coat applications (checking colour correctness; that paint has been applied evenly on the car body and checking for a flawless surface)

Prism cameras are also available with a CoaxPress interface
