New Driver for Internal Image Acquisition

Every IDS uEye camera is shipped with comprehensive, proprietary software, comprising of drivers, interfaces and tools. To ensure user-friendliness, the software is identical for all uEye cameras resulting in a smooth, fast and easy integration into your application. Another added benefit is that because drivers are loaded into the camera after it has been connected, IDS’s regularly-released updates means that functionality can be enhanced even for already-installed cameras.

What’s new in this version?
The latest new release of their uEye Software Package Version 3.32 includes:

* New driver for optimized image acquisition for all uEye models * Support for the GigE uEye SE family of cameras
* Enhanced functionality for the GigE HE models * New API functions
* New trigger mode: continuous trigger * Additional subsampling and binning modes
* Completely revised manuals * New demo to configure and test the serial interface
* New pixel formats and colour conversion methods (GigE uEye HE)

What’s been retained?
Common inclusions in all uEye camera software support packages are:

  • Drivers for Windows and Linux
  • Interfaces for various image-processing packages
  • Standard drivers such as DirectShow (WDM)
  • A GenICam TM interface (updated for the USB and GigE cameras)
  • The Software Development Kit (SDK) contianing a subset of tools

What’s also included?
SDK Programming language support :
To make integration as easy as possible and to allow use of your familiar development environment, the SDK package supports the following programming languages: C, C++, C#, Microsoft .NET and Visual Basic. Also provided are 3 rd-party software drivers for ActivVision Tools, Common Vision Blox, HALCON, LabView, and NeuroCheck.

SDK Tools: The uEye Camera Manager
This central tool helps avoid bottlenecks and achieve maximum performance by managing all uEye cameras connected to the system. An added extra in this release is the user's ability to resize the Camera Manager window.

SDK Tools: The uEye Demo
This tool allows you to start acquiring images with your uEye camera with minimal learning downtime. It also allows you to perform image measurement and annotation, in addition to giving you all the tools to configure optimal camera settings for your application. New to this version are:

  • A new dialog box to customise the hardware LUT
  • New colour formats and converters
  • An additional dialog box to display all capture errors
  • The ability to save and restore the position and size of the application window
  • Setting user-defined camera-opening settings or to retain the default settings
