Advanced Pixel Processor
Back to Image Processors
Back to Coreco Frame Grabbers
| The Pixel Processor is a dedicated image processing engine designed to accelerate
intensive image processing tasks. It features a reprogrammable processing core
and two independent frame buffers used to buffer reference images, incoming
camera images, and intermediate results. The Pixel Processor operates on pixel
data at rates up to 200MB/s. |
 |
The Pixel Processor operates on images presented on the input port, or on images
stored in the local frame buffer (images can be pre-loaded into the frame buffers
for processing). The output of the Pixel Processor can be directed through the
output port or back to the frame buffer memory for storage and further treatment.

The Pixel Processor's Processing Core is a multi-function device that can be
reprogrammed to perform any number of image processing tasks. Combinations of
several image processing functions are pre-loaded into the processing core and
selected via software at run-time. Listed below are several typical image processing
functions which are available as standard libraries from Coreco Imaging. Processing
rates established in the table below are typical for 512 by 512, 8-bit images.
Contact Coreco Imaging for an updated list.
The Pixel Processor can be field installed to the Mamba
or Viper series. When installed on the Viper series
of products, the Pixel Processor acts exclusively as an image pre-processor.
