Featuring the ability to capture high-resolution
images at high, speeds, the Phantom V2010 is a powerful, 1 megapixel
digital high-speed camera. Designed to be versatile and flexible,
it is an excellent tool for researchers, scientists and engineers
who need to capture high-resolution images at very high speeds.
Based on a field-proven camera widely used in many industrial
and scientific applications, the Phantom V2010 is built with a wide screen
CMOS sensor that delivers an industry-leading speed of over 22,000
frames-per-second at full 1 megapixel resolution.
The benefits
No-stopping
memory segmentation
At high speeds, memory can become a limiting factor in camera performance
because of the huge amount of data that is acquired. However, the Phantom
V2010 can be configured with 24 GB, 48 GB or 96 GB of memory which can
be segmented into as many as 63 partitions allowing for the shooting of
back-to-back shots without the need for constant downloading.
Partitioning internal memory provides the capacity to make shorter
recordings back-to-back without missing any action.
Maximize cine saving time and storage security with Phantom
CineMag
The Phantom CineMag feature comes as standard. With the ability
to save 512GG data to an attached CineMag.
A 96 GB shot can be saved in about 1.5 minutes and the resulting cine
is securely stored in non-volatile memory. The contents of the CineMag
can be viewed later on a PC, trimmed, played to video and saved either
back to the camera or on the offline Phantom CineStation.
High throughput
High throughput is important. At any given resolution, a camera
with the highest throughput will provide the fastest frame rates at that
resolution. Having high throughput means top performance and maximum
flexibility to adapt to any shooting requirement.
Image-based auto-trigger
The camera can be triggered from motion-detection within the
live image making it easier to catch events that are not predictable
or occur infrequently
PIV and Burst Mode
Science experiments require precise timing and stable and predictable
capture. The PIV and Burst Mode features provide the environment to capture
accurately. The V2010 as a Frame Off mode for PIV and has a 500ns straddle
time. .
Sensor characteristics
Based on Vision Research's custom CMOS sensor (colour and monochrome
versions), the 28 micron pixel size means excellent light sensitivity,
an essential for successful high-speed capture. The rectangular
shape of the 1Mpx sensor keeps moving objects in the frame for
a longer period.
Size and weight
As with its predecessors, the V2010 is 28x19x17.5cm and weighs
7.65kg without lens.
Global
shutter
The global electronic shutter is
capable of exposures as fast as 1 µs on a standard
camera, or 500 ns with the FAST option to completely freeze motion
without motion blurring.
Versatile and conveniently-located connections
The Phantom V2010 and its two predecessors, are very highly-connected
cameras providing 15 connection points at the rear of the camera
(see figure above left)
Command and control
A variety of different set-up and control tools are provided
with full-featured, easy-to-set-up control software.
Mechanical Shutter
The in-built mechanical shuuter allows automatic and remote black
reference calibration.
Remote Control Unit
This RCU is a small, full-featured camera controller that connects
to the remote port on the camera or connects wirelessly via Bluetooth.
The RCU's LCD touch screen provides finger-tap access to
all camera features. Connected to one of the HD-SDI video ports,
it can also be used as a monitor.
